Baseball report, 5/1

First inning:

The Saline Area of Commerce team had a slight run-in with the rain and cold Friday evening at Heritage North diamond, but that didn't stop green's #11, Giuseppe Gottfried from a smooth hit and run in the first inning. Some people (aka: Dad) where calling it a "rip."

In the bottom of the first Giuseppe covered third base with nothing substantial to report.

Second inning:

The weather started to bite. Giuseppe was seen in a red hooded zipper sweater. The cold must have gotten to him, but not enough for Gottfried, the youngest player on the team, to rocked it out again in the second inning.

Meanwhile, word on the ground is that Giuseppe's brother, Vincenzo, was wildly excited about his brother's performance that he could hardly sit still while he was overwhelmed with anxiety when Giuseppe was up to bat.

Third inning:

By the third and final inning Giuseppe still managed to hit the ball during his second game of the season in coach-pitch baseball. This time it was a bunt hit, but it still got him on first.

After the 1 hour and 45 minutes game, players were treated with snacks and drinks. Next game is Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.
